This is a enchanting property. Renovation of this old windmill has been so accurate to create a special place in perfect armony with its natural surroundings. This is a unique peaceful stay in the beautiful hills of Tuscany. 01/08 SRThe rooms are rather large and cosy, with iron bedding, fine textiles and brick works on the walls and wooden ceilings. Equipped with modern comforts, they are decorated in pastel colour that gives a very relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. The bathrooms are large and in very good order throughout, 10 rooms out of 12 have a jacuzzi. Some rooms have also small private gardens facing the huge natural park that surrounds this exquisite property. This beautifully restored windmill is located in Gaiole in Chianti, the famous Chianti wine route, in the Tuscany hills. Siena is 30 kms away and Florence at 50 kms. There is no easy access by public transports and it is recommended to use proper car. Soft ambiance and refined cuisine for this restaurant, with large windows overlooking the park and a small river. Local cuisine and International dishes are served. This original building is dated back to 1200 and it has been superbly restored and converted into a Hotel in 2001. The windmill characteristics are kept in most original parts of the building, which is surrounded by a huge natural park. A small open air amphitheatre, sometimes used for concerts, guests a garden veranda while at walking distance a 22 metres outdoor swimming pool is built in one of the old mill ducts. The reception area is small and located in an annex to the main building, has a wooden desk and a bar to welcome clients. The lobby and sitting area have high ceilings and bricks works with arches. Clients can relax on the sofas, small tables and chairs are on one side of this large room, once heart of the mill, where breakfast is served in the morning.
