Located on the east coast of Mauritius, in the sheltered bay of Palmar, the Ambre Resort & Spa sits on one kilometre of white sand beach. The resort consists of low-rise terra cotta buildings situated around lush gardens and the sea. The lobby is constructed mainly in wood with rattan furniture and large ornamental flowers adding a tropical touch. This is a good 4* property located on the quieter side of the island and a bit closer to the airport that those on the west. This property offers all the land and water sports you would expect, including tennis, volleyball, mini golf, waterskiing, pedalo, kayaking and snorkeling. A 600 square metre spa also offers a number of treatments (closed on Sundays). Standard rooms are medium in size and in good condition. Each room is equipped with satellite television, mini bar, in-room safe and is decorated in bright, lively colours. All have a balcony or terrace with garden view. The hotel offers four restaurants, all of which guests on half board can eat at with prior reservations (except the main restaurant) on the fixed menu. The main restaurant serves buffet breakfast and themed dinners. A gourmet restaurant is open for dinner, along with an Italian option. Lastly, a beach restaurant serves both lunch and dinner.
