Hidden away amongst the trees on the hillside above the town is the stump of Bradford's one and only windmill, which still forms a prominent if rather eccentric landmark. The ornate Victorian spiral staircase, pointed Gothic windows and the four storey cotswold stone tower with its conical stone tiled roof, are features more reminiscent of a folly. However the building had a short spell in the 19th Century as a windmill and still has an oak sail gallery as a reminder of its industrial past.
