Sun City is an enormous entertainment resort & it has been built on the legendary theme of 'the lost city' which it reconstructs. It has a wide range of facilities & attractions from a roman amphitheatre, a lake with a host of watersports, a beach fully equipped with wave machines & waterslides, forests & of course the casinos for which it is famed all over the world. This is the budget property of Sun City with plenty of activities for all ages and especially for children. There are certain dates in the year when either the Lost City course or Gary player golf course are unavailable due to competitions. Also in the winter months of May and June maintenance is undertaken for the 'Valley of the Waves', the 'Dungeon' and the observatory so these may be closed for public use. A short stroll across the luscious green lawns of the Cabanas brings you to a World of Fun in the Sun , Waterworld. There's jet-skiing, windsurfing, water-skiing and for those who want a leisurely booze-cruise, there's a barge to take you around the lake at Sundowner time. Being a hotel more for families the hotel is built into various blocks. The main building consists of the reception area & concierge whilst the rooms are in separate blocks spread throughout the hotels grounds. Sun City Cabanas offer three dining options , the chefs excel at creating imaginative theme style buffets at the Palm Terrace and everyday a full breakfast buffet and dinner buffet is offered. Tender and juicy grills are available at the famous Butchers Grill and light daytime fare is served at the Grande Pool Bar. The reception area is spacious with a balconied foyer overlooking the Palm Terrace. Attractive planters placed around the tiled floor, and the lightly textured walls topped with a ceiling frieze of tropical foliage and flowers, all contribute to an immediate holiday feeling. The rooms have been restyled in muted hues of glorious pinks and aqua greens. The white cotton linen duvets enhance the fresh feel of the rooms and allow for a more casual style. Guests can choose between standard and luxury Cabanas, all of which are fully air-conditioned and equipped with quality flat screen TV's with selected DSTV channels, tea and coffee making facilities and electronic safes and telephones. A major bonus for families is the mini refrigerator, which is ideal for storing baby bottles, milk and beverages. Standard Cabanas offer a shower-en-suite, whilst their luxury counterparts feature a full bathroom. The Family rooms at the Cabanas offer extra beds for children in the form of a sleeper couch. 20 kms to the nearest airport (sun valley).
