The Caerwylan is a friendly, privately owned 3 star hotel, situated in a wonderful location on the East shore of Criccieth's Esplanade. The hotel is a landmark Victorian building which faces south with stunning views over the main beach, Tremadog Bay and towards the ruins of Criccieth Castle. The hotel probably enjoys some of the best seaside views in North Wales. The Caerwylan is an ideal base to explore Criccieth, the beautiful beaches of the Lleyn Peninsula, Snowdonia and the many famous steam railways, castles and golf courses of North Wales. With a southern aspect Criccieth's two beaches are a mixture of sand and pebble with outcrops exposing rock pools at low tide. A gentle stroll takes you to all the town amenities. We bought the hotel at the end of 2007 and since then we have rebuilt all of the Bedrooms to a high standard. We now have 24 comfortable, contemporary, en-suite bedrooms. Each bedroom has been individually designed and many of the bedrooms have lovely sea views. There are 5 categories of bedroom Standard Single, Standard Double, Standard Plus TwinSuper King, Superior and Executive TwinSuper King. There is one family bedroom (Room 21 minimum age for children 12). Apart from Room 21, please note it is not our policy to have 2 adults and a babychild in any of our double bedrooms. From the lift to Room 21, there are approximately 11 stairs. The ground floor of the hotel has a relaxing sea facing lounge, a contemporary bar with a wide range of wines, spirits, lagers and beers including the award winning Purple Moose range, which is brewed in Porthmadog. New for 2012 is an elegant restaurant which overlooks the garden and is open to residents and non residents for dinner seven days a week from 6pm, offering different dining options. The Head Chef uses good, local suppliers as much as possible. We are also open for Sunday Lunch from noon until 2 pm. Morning coffee, light lunches (Monday to Saturday) and afternoon tea is served in the new sea facing lounge and during the summer months in our garden.
