cDamson Cottage is a cosy BB constructed from traditional Wiltshire stone, with the oldest part of the cottage dating back some 250 years, and situated in the stunning hamlet of Reybridge near Lacock only 8 miles from junction 17 of the M4. The house is set in picturesque grounds with paddocks for our horses and chickens. The cottage has views across fields which have cattle and horses grazing in, and we are surrounded by lovely countryside in a peaceful and idyllic situation. We are just one minute from the river Avon, and have many footpaths close by so you can enjoy relaxing walks, or you can sit outside in our lovely garden and enjoy a glass of wine (weather permitting!).We have three guest rooms available, all beautifully decorated with flat screen TV’s and DVD players, we are also able to offer free Wi-Fi. Each room has tea and coffee making facilities, with locally sourced biscuits for those of you with a sweet tooth! We also supply complimentary toiletries for all of our guests. The village of Lacock and the Medieval cloistered Abbey is just a 10 minutes walk away. Lacock is a uniquely preserved 18th century village and has been owned by the National Trust since 1944, and little has changed in the past two hundred years. The village boasts 3 pubs and a very good restaurant, all serving food and we would be happy to make a booking for you. Lacock is also known as the home of photography as William Henry Fox Talbot, the inventor of the negative, lived at the Abbey. Over the past 15 years Lacock and the Abbey have featured in a number of film and TV productions including Harry Potter, Pride and Prejudice and more recently, Cranford. The Roman City of Bath is an easy 10 mile drive or one stop on the train from Chippenham. There are many other places to visit within half an hour’s drive Dyrham Park, Bradford on Avon, The Courts at Holt, Avebury Stones, Corsham Court. Further a field, within an hour is Stonehenge, Westonbirt Arboretum Hotel Rating: Self Assessed 3 star
