Built in the 1400's The George and Pilgrim is the oldest purpose built public house in the South West of England and is steeped with history. Following a recent refurbishment there is a choice of very special en suite bedrooms, some with magnificently draped four poster beds for that special occasion. All rooms have TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Enjoy a leisurely aperitif or traditional ale in The Pilgrim's bar with its old charm and character , it's the perfect spot to delve into the myths and mysteries of this beautiful county. Along with an impressive panelled stone frontage, mullion windows, old oak beams, this is a fine and historic building where you will take a step back in time as you enter the hotel, yet offering all the modern facilities you would expect. Bar snacks are available in The Pilgrims bar. The hotel also has a superb restaurant with an A la Carte menu with freshly prepared home made food. The Chalice Suite is licensed for Civil Ceremonies. It's an excellent choice for weddings, holding functions for up to 90 . For Business Meetings they are able to cater for up to 50 delegates.
