The Hotel Convento D'Alter is located just two hours away from Lisbon in the villa of Alter do Chao, in the Alentejo region of Portugal. A completely restored Franciscan Convent of the late XVI century which was used as private residence yet during the last one. Preserving its original splendour and characteristics the old convent suffered a profound transformation turning it into a fine hotel with new areas and facilities. With its thirty rooms, conference rooms, swimming pools for adults and children, bar with snack and light meals service it is without any doubt one of the most complete and comfortable units of the northern Alentejo. For longer stays or simply short breaks to change the daily routine this hotel will certainly meet the satisfaction of the most demanding visitor. For all those who want to visit the villa and the nearby surroundings it is worth visiting: The Renaissance Fountain, the church Igreja Nossa Senhora da Alegria and the Janela Geminada.
