LUA CHEIA is our dream beach camp, located at Ras Bweni in the north of Mafia Island on our private beach of over 2 km..…this beautiful location is now yours !FACILITIESWe have kept this beautiful place as natural and undisturbed as possible while providing all the necessary comforts. The bar and dining facilities are located on a tiny neck of land that separates two magnificent beaches. They are furnished in our own signature (and very simple) style…..the wooden floors of the bar and restaurant, the antique leather and dhow-wood furniture and the soft sand under your tent floors conspire to give the “barefoot” experience we want our guests to enjoy. We could not possibly call this a “luxury” camp because the tents are not HUGE and there is only ONE wash basin and the furniture was designed by us NOT someone famous, but…….it is THE most amazing place and Lua Cheia takes care of only 12 people at any one time….and we really take care of our guests……..there are no “fantasies” here and no “special effects”..…just a fabulous, real, back-to-nature, simple experience…..nothing else is required. ROOMSWe have six large tents under thatched “bandas” with verandahs leading directly onto the beach. The site faces north-west and take advantage of the sea breezes during the hot-season as well as the marvellous evening sunsets over the Selous and Rufiji Delta. Each room is equipped with a separate an en-suite bathroom constructed in concrete block and equipped with solar-heated water and solar lighting. There are even fans powered by solar collectors to keep you cool at night ! Business hours of reception: Every day: from 08:00 to 22:00 .
