The Park Head Country Hotel and Restaurant is situated in the heart of County Durham and offers a warm friendly welcome at our family owned and run hotel. Bishop Auckland is a convenient base for reaching Durham and Darlington and for exploring the beautiful Wear Valley and all its historical sites. The hotel is in a traditional courtyard setting with thirty-two spacious rooms, all en-suite and equipped with Freeview TV and radio channels. Free Wi-Fi access is also available in the bar area. Enjoy the newly opened beer garden whilst the children enjoy the new free children's play area. The large car park is free, secure, well lit and covered by CCTV. Weddings, conferences and functions can all be catered for in our Oakland Suite. The Park Head is renowned for its food offerings, whether its from the famous carvery, extensive restaurant menu or on special occasions. Every Sunday we offer the biggest and best carvery in the county with a choice of four joints of the finest English meat, all sourced within the local area and all complemented by a wide range of locally sourced vegetables and our legendary Yorkshire puddings - the perfect accompaniment to the traditional English Sunday roast. Vegetarian options are also always available. The main menu is available in our extended bar area from 11am-9pm every day apart from Sunday when it's available from 5pm to 9pm and features classic British dishes as well as you favourite international dishes.
