Rose Cottage is a 2-bed detached cottage, dated circa 1800's, situated near Hadrian's Wall and the Pennines in an area of outstanding beauty. On the outskirts of Park Village, a small village approximately 2 miles from Haltwhistle the cottage is on a quiet road to Coanwood, Lambley, and Alston. The cottage is set within 1/3 acre of gardens including a pond and a vegetable garden. 10 minutes' walk along the South Tyne Trail is the local pub The Wallace Arms at Featherstone, serving good food with real ales by cosy fires. The cottage has been recently refurbished to a high standard, with central heating, living room with TV (Freesat), DVD and wood burning stove. There is a large conservatory with views to the garden and pond area. Fully fitted kitchen, with electric fan oven, halogen hob, with cooker hood, dishwasher, fridge and microwave oven. 2 bedrooms which sleep up to 6 people, 1 double room with double bed, 1 double with twin beds, and a bed settee in the living room, separate bathroom with bath power shower and separate toilet. Haltwhistle is only 2 miles from the cottage. It is a small market town with ample shops including 2 supermarkets and butchers selling locally reared meats. There are several pubs, restaurants and take aways, catering for all tastes. There is a leisure centre including an open-air swimming pool. Situated at the Centre of Britain, at the heart of Hadrian's Wall country, it is an ideal base for the exploration of the beautiful Northumbrian countryside. The vibrant city of Newcastle and the Abbey town of Hexham lie to the east, Carlisle and the Lake District lie to the west.
