The village of Fovant is set in the Nadder valley on the A30 between Salisbury and Shaftesbury. The name is derived from the old English' Fobbefunta' meaning spring of a man called fobbe' Fovant is known worldwide for its badges. These badges represent the various army regiments garrisoned here at Fovant during WW1.Located nearby is Salisbury, home of the world famous Salisbury Cathedral. Salisbury has lots to offer. Shopping an active theatre. There are Museums and River Walks; there is something for everyone here. Historic Shaftesbury is home of Gold hill made famous in the Hovis adverts. Shaftesbury offers great local shops and scenery. The Pembroke Arms is literally a 15 minute drive from the world heritage site of Stonehenge.
