Classification: 3 Star Bed & Breakfast

Pitlessie House, a Grade II listed Georgian Manor House, set in 1/2 acre of walled gardens, is a delightful small Guest House in North East Fife, only 15 min from St Andrews. Built in 1737 by George Heggie, Provost of Kirkcaldy, it is the historically most important property in the Howe of Fife on the banks of the river Eden. For centuries it was the home of the mill owners of Priestfield Maltings, now award-winning residential dwellings and various doctors and dentists before it was acquired by a professional hotelier, recently retired from the international hotel industry. Real log fires, antiques, original cornicing, stained glass windows that would do Charles Rennie Mackintosh proud, are some of its distinctive features. Hotel Rating: Self Assessed 3 star
