This is undoubtedly one of the most privileged Portuguese Pousadas, as it is entirely located within a small manor house, built in the 18th century by King D.Dinis. From here you can enjoy the most superb view over the Minho river and valley. The culinary reputation of the Pousada is very good and their fish dishes are especially tasteful. Architecturally there is much to be said for preserving the original buildings individually. The bar disco and sitting-room are in a separate building, at one time used as the garrison prison.
