Shimogoten is located in Ryujin onsen of Wakayama prefecture. Ryujin onsen is an old onsen with 1,300-year history in the onsen village at the upstream of the Hidaka river. It is located at the entrance of the Ryujin-Koya Skyline Highway that links the World Heritage site, Koyasan and the Kumano area. It is a perfect place to stop and relax between these two sacred places. Ryujin onsen's smooth and silky waters are well known for making skin beautiful and is one of Japan's three famous Bijin-no-yu or Beautifying Hot Springs. The hotel offers variety of onsen baths, including open air bath, inside bath, coed bath, bath with tatami floor, and private bath. Shimogoten has Main & New Tower. From Kansai International Airport (KIX); 10 minutes to Hineno station by JR Kansai International Airport Line. Transfer to express train to Kii Tanabe station for 90 minutes. Then 80 minutes by Ryujin Bus to Ryujin Onsen. From Haneda International Airport (HND); 60 minutes to Nanki Shirahama Airport by domestic flight. Take Meiko bus for 40 minutes to Kii Tanabe station. Then 80 minutes by Ryujin Bus to Ryujin Onsen.
