Within easy walking distance are: The Lodmoor and Radipole RSPB Reserves, The Southwest Coastal Footpath, Weymouth Sealife Centre, Preston Beach, The Esplanade, Old Harbour and The Nothe Fort. It's under ten miles to the Portland Bird Observatory, Portland Bill Lighthouse, Chesil Beach, Abbotsbury, Dorchester & Poundbury and within forty minutes' drive are the chocolate box cottages of Lulworth Cove, Briantspuddle, Litton Cheney, Little Bredy and Milton Abbas. From the ancient earthworks of Maiden Castle and Maumbury Rings to the spectacular ruins of Corfe Castle and the deserted village of Tyneham, Dorset's history will fascinate.
