The Riverside Hotel is a family run business and we pride ourselves on providing efficient, friendly service and good value for our guests. We have 17 en-suite bedrooms, an excellent restaurant, conservatory lounge and the Agincourt Suite; our versatile and spacious banqueting room which offers facilities for weddings, conferences or parties. Originally a 19th coaching inn the Riverside is now a busy 17 bedroom hotel offering the perfect combination of market-town energy and rural loveliness with friendly, professional service and exceptional value, making it an ideal location for a relaxing break. The town of Monmouth sits on the River Monnow, where it flows into the River Wye. Monmouth has much to offer the visitor and is an excellent base from which to explore the Wye Valley or walk Offa's Dyke. Within easy driving distance, the visitor can see the majesty of Tintern Abbey on the banks of the River Wye, the splendour of Symonds Yat or enjoy browsing among the numerous medieaval castles that abound in the area, such as those at Raglan, Chepstow or Usk. If you are a keen walker or cyclist, looking for wide open spaces, the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons are within a 40 minute drive. For the many golfing fans, Monmouth is ideally located for the many attractive golf courses in this area and particularly the superb Rolls of Monmouth course. St Pierre, Shirenewton, Celtic Manor and Dewstow courses are all within twenty minutes of the hotel. Monmouth itself has been a key location throughout the region's history with its fortified bridge (the only one surviving in the UK today) historic castle remains and twisting, mediaeval streets. Many famous names are linked to Monmouth. Henry V, Lord Nelson and Charles Rolls (as in Rolls Royce!) are a few famous people that have strong links to the town and serve to remind us about its important history.
