The Talbot is a pub with rooms, providing ensuite (with bath and shower) accommodation. All rooms are non-smoking and have a flatscreen TV with freeview, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities and free, wireless, internet access. We serve superb food from an innovative menu which enables our chefs to use - at its seasonal best - fresh, local, organic produce where possible. Meals can be served in the dining room,village bar or outside on the terrace with outside heaters or weather permitting. The talbot is renowned for excellent Breakfast to start you on your day, with choice of fresh fruit,yoghurts,selection of cereals, homemade jams,marmalades,hearty full English Breakfast,teas of choice with freshly ground coffee. We were awarded the title of Dorset Dining Pub of the Year in September 2008 and were runners up in the same category in September 2009.Along with being runners up in the same category 2010We also have entries in the Alistair Sawday's and Michelin guides. Situated in the beautiful Dorset countryside between the ancient hilltop town of Shaftesbury and the Georgian town of Blandford with good links to the coast, The Talbot is easy to find in the middle of the pretty village of Iwerne Minster. We are ideally located if you are visiting Clayesmore, Bryanston, St. Mary's, Sandroyd, Knighton House or Hanford schools, the Larmer Tree Gardens, Stourhead Gardens or The Dorset Steam Fair. If you enjoy exploring the countryside there are some lovely walks nearby - including a climb to the tops of the hilltop forts of Hod and Hambledon and miles of glorious,open, countryside - which should sharpen your appetite for lunch or dinner.
