This landmark hotel is located on the banks of the famous Hardangerfjord looking out over the water towards the magnificent mountains beyond. The hotel Ullensvang is one of the most famous hotels in Scandinavia. It has been owned and run by the Utne family since 1864 when it was a small guesthouse. The famous composer Edvard Grieg found inspiration for some of his most well known pieces while relaxing there and his humble cabin still remains in the garden of the hotel overlooking the fjord. This large white building is centred around a historical centre section, but has been extended and modified countless times over the years. All rooms are of medium size and in exceptional condition. All have a balcony so guests can enjoy the views even further. Bathrooms are also in exceptional condition. Dining at the hotel is a rare treat - a traditional Scandinavian buffet of exceedingly high quality is served.
