Located on the border of Yosemite National Park, the Lodge is alongside a stretch of the Merced River that cascades into rapids much of the year. Yosemite View Lodge is the closest accommodation outside the park to any of Yosemite's 4 entrances... and downstream on the Merced River, guests enjoy fishing, kayaking, rafting, real gold panning, and unparalleled beauty. This comfortable, well-equipped lodge is located in El Portal overlooking the Merced River. It is just 4 km from the western entrance to the famous Yosemite National Park. Renovated in 2004, the hotel consists of several buildings with a total of 278 rooms. The main building houses the reception area with a safe, cloakroom, newspaper stand and lift access. Further facilities here include a cosy bar and an inviting restaurant. Parking facilities for those arriving by car rounds up the offerings. The tastefully fitted rooms all come with an en suite bathroom with hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, and satellite/ cable TV. There is also a kitchenette with a fridge, microwave oven, and tea and coffee making facilities. The air conditioning and heating are individually regulated, and all rooms also features either a balcony or terrace. Depending on the season, guests can make use of the two outdoor swimming pools.
